Object is a loose page separated from album. The red paint used to write "Japan" on the front is beginning to crack in some areas. The photograph of the Buddha is in good condition, with only slight yellowing.

Curatorial Note

The object represents a typical album travelers to Japan would buy, with both generic photographs and personal photographs included.

The illustration on the front of the page features a stylized Japanese sailboat in mainly reds, white, and gold paint. The photograph attached to the back of the page is a black and white gelatin silver print of a statue of the Buddha.
